This FREE program will allow participants to get a taste of college life, develop an understanding of the complex skills gained in research, and gain information on opportunities available through the STEM field. Participants will be assigned to groups. In these groups they will be working on a research project during this 5 day camp, ending with a research presentation for professional staff and families of student participants.

The Nonlinear Mechanics and Dynamics (NOMAD) Research Institute seeks to tackle research challenges in the field of nonlinear mechanics and dynamics by forming diverse teams of B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. students, as well as post-doctoral and earlycareer researchers. This program at the University of New Mexico provides support services to Native American students majoring in STEM fields. They offer academic support, workshops, and scholarships.

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is a private, nonprofit organization, which nurtures building of community by bridging science and technology with traditional Native values. Through its education program, AISES provides opportunities for Native Americans and Alaskan Natives to pursue studies in Science, Engineering, Business, and other academic areas. The trained professionals then become technologically informed leaders within the Native American community. AISES' advancement of Native Americans as they seek to become self-reliant and self-determined members of society.
